The Data Poverty APPG was incorporated at its Annual General Meeting on the 8th February 2021. Darren Jones MP was elected as the Chair of the APPG.

Election of Parliamentary Officers

·       Darren Jones MP was elected Chair

·       Lord Tim Clement-Jones was elected Treasurer

·       Julie Elliott MP was elected as an APPG officer

·       Carol Monaghan MP was elected as an APPG officer

·       Karen Bradley MP was elected as an APPG officer

·       Siobhan McDonagh MP was elected as an APPG officer

Appointment of Secretariat

Darren Jones MP moved that Lodestone Communications be appointed as the APPG secretariat on an in-kind basis until otherwise agreed in the future.

APPG officers agreed unanimously.

Update on partnering and the first ISP Roundtable

Darren Jones MP updated the APPG that the initial roundtable with Internet Service Providers is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 10th February at 4PM and that an invitation would be circulated to APPG members.

Lord Clement-Jones requested that Darren’s Ten Minute Rule Bill speech be circulated to officers for their information.
